Educational information only
The information on this website is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease or medical condition. Nothing on this website creates a physician–patient relationship.
Do not begin, discontinue, or change any medical treatment based on information presented on this website. Always consult an appropriately licensed physician who understands your medical history, diagnosis, available standard treatments, and individual risks. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
Regulatory status of cell-based interventions
The regulatory status of a cell-based or regenerative-medicine intervention depends on the specific product, how it is collected and processed, its intended use, the location where it is administered, and the laws of that jurisdiction.
Unless a particular product and indication are expressly identified on this website as approved or licensed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, visitors should not assume that the intervention has been reviewed, authorized, approved, or licensed by the FDA.
Certain cell-based interventions discussed on this website may be investigational and may not have been established as safe or effective for the conditions discussed. An investigational intervention is not the same as an approved treatment. The fact that cells are obtained from a patient’s own body does not, by itself, mean that an intervention is exempt from FDA regulation, approved by the FDA, or proven safe and effective.
FDA-authorized hematopoietic stem-cell and bone-marrow transplantation for certain blood, immune-system, genetic, and cancer related conditions should not be interpreted as FDA authorization for other uses of stem cells or regenerative-medicine products, including uses for metabolic diseases.
Research participation
When Jeevasa or an independently operated center provides information about a clinical study, the applicable study information will identify the study sponsor, treatment location, eligibility requirements, regulatory status, ethics or institutional review board approval, and trial registration information, when required.
Participation in research is voluntary. Prospective participants must receive and review a study specific informed consent document before enrollment. Payment by a participant does not establish that an intervention is approved, safe, effective, or likely to provide a medical benefit.
Risks and results
Cell collection, processing, transplantation, injection, and infusion may involve serious risks. Depending on the intervention, these may include pain, bleeding, infection, immune or inflammatory reactions, allergic reactions, blood clots, neurological injury, failure of the intervention, worsening of the underlying condition, unintended tissue formation, abnormal cell growth, disability, hospitalization, or death. Additional risks may be unknown.
No outcome is promised or guaranteed. Individual responses vary, and an intervention that appears to have helped one person may provide no benefit or may cause harm to another person.
Testimonials and patient experiences
Testimonials describe the personal experiences and opinions of particular individuals. They are not guarantees, scientific proof, or representations that another patient will obtain the same or similar results. Testimonials may not reflect typical results. Material relationships, compensation, or other benefits provided to a person offering a testimonial will be disclosed where applicable.
Publications and third-party information
References to scientific publications, PubMed, universities, government agencies, professional organizations, or clinical-trial registries are provided for informational purposes. Publication of research, listing in a database, or reference to a government or professional organization does not mean that the organization has approved, endorsed, certified, or determined the safety or effectiveness of Jeevasa, an affiliated center, or any particular intervention.
International locations and independent providers
Healthcare laws and regulatory requirements vary by country and region. Services offered at a particular location are subject to the laws, professional standards, licensing requirements, research requirements, and regulatory approvals applicable at that location.
Jeevasa and independently owned or operated hospitals, laboratories, research organizations, licensees, or affiliated centers may be separate legal entities. The identity of the entity responsible for any proposed service will be disclosed before a patient makes a treatment or research participation decision.
Information about availability in one country does not mean that the same intervention is lawful, authorized, approved, or available in another country. Patients considering treatment outside their home country should obtain independent medical and legal advice and understand how complications and follow-up care will be handled after returning home.
No substitute for informed consent
This website disclaimer is not a substitute for an individualized medical evaluation, a physician’s professional judgment, or a procedure or study specific informed-consent process. Before receiving any service, each patient must receive information concerning the proposed intervention, its regulatory status, alternatives, possible benefits, material risks, costs, follow-up requirements.
Patients in the United States may also review information about regenerative-medicine products directly through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration at FDA.gov.
